HALTism And More Therapy
Formally Alpha Bridged-Wall Spectrum, HALTism and More Therapy is a passion and compassion driven organisation with solid dedicated team of autism practitioners in Lagos, Nigeria. HALTism and More Therapy is an exceptional organisation that builds her team on love, shared values and transferring these to the children and young individuals on the autism spectrum that we work with.
With over 16 years of experience on the field and continuous learning, we work with tenets of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) as we draw up Individualized Educational Programmes (IEP) that best suits our service users into living independently and achieving quality of life.
Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA)
ABA therapy is used to determine the causes of an individual’s behavioral challenges and uses specific strategies to help reduce these challenges. We use ABA therapy in different settings, such as schools, hospitals, clinics, and homes. Applied Behaviour Analysis focuses on functional communication, social skills and related life skills. At HALTism and More Therapy we offer modern and progressive ABA services that incorporate the Verbal Behaviour Approach, PBS and current best practice in ABA research.
Positive Behaviour Support
Our Positive Behaviour Support Programmes are designed to understand and address a child’s challenging behaviours. We support children and adolescents of all ages.
We fully understand that challenging behaviours are often a source of frustration, and emotional distress for both the child and their parents. Our ultimate focus is to develop proactive strategies that promote and sustain positive behaviours and reduce challenging behaviours. We design programmes to address behaviours including:
ASAF
Asa Saves Autism Foundation (ASAF) is a non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) that sprung up to mitigate all the experienced challenges surrounding children and young adults on the autism spectrum. Over the years, we have witnessed the challenges families face in getting children on the autism spectrum into mainstream schools and overall general improvements to their quality of life. We want each individual on the autism spectrum and related disorders as well as their families to have access to needed resources and services that positively impact their quality of life.
Beyond the awareness we create, we want to keep expanding the scope of acceptance and change in perspective of the society in relation to autistic individuals. We see inclusion as a process and it is based on individual needs and lived experiences. It is about what each needs and Asa Saves Autism Foundation cares to deliver these needs. We believe how one thinks about the learner is how one treats/interacts with him/her. We are changing societal perspectives to be more autism-friendly; we are purely dedicated to changing attitudes, transforming lives and improving quality of lives for autistic people.
